SA: Unions join anti-war rally
South Australian unions have pledged to join a rally against war with Iraq in Adelaide on Sunday.
The United Trades and Labor Council says the rally will be one of the largest protestactions the state has seen.
UTLC state secretary JANET GILES says tens of thousands of people are expected to takepart in the rally, to start at Victoria Square in the city centre and march to parliamenthouse.
Ms GILES says Australian unionists recognise their fellow workers in Iraq face beingslaughtered and essentially sacrificed to the suit the United States' political end.
He says the protest rally is important in sending a message to Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD.
Sunday's rally has been organised by various peace groups throughout the state.
