Shooting suspect says he meant to hit cab driver

A Charleston man was in jail today after he allegedly shot hisbest friend in the head following an argument with a cab driver at aSissonville bar. Brian Scott Bryant, 18, turned himself into aKanawha County Sheriff's Deputy Friday and was charged with maliciouswounding and wanton endangerment for shooting 18-year-old MatthewTurley.

"I meant to hit the driver," Bryant said after a short hearing inKanawha County Magistrate Court. "He pulled (a gun) out on me first."

Bryant is being held at South Central Regional Jail on $30,000bond.

Police say he got into an altercation with cab driver EveretteBeaver after leaving the Roadhouse Bar early Thursday.
